Our Loving Father, We are thankful to You Lord for sparing the life of your servant who was seriously injured in this head-on collision.  May you grant the doctors and entire medical staff wisdom to effectively treat and restore this officer to full health.  Lord, there are thousands of law enforcement officers driving police cruisers and motorcycles right now who are constantly in harms way.  So Lord, we want to bring every one of these officers unto your mercy seat and ask for your protecting hand to be upon them wherever they travel.  May you protect them as they drive at high speeds or go in pursuit of violators and other criminals.  And even as they are on routine patrol, may your mercies extend to them wherever they travel and whatever they do.  May you be with the entire Fairfax County Police Department and uphold them with your peace and grace.  May you be with the officers investigating this horrific collision and grant them wisdom and insight to help with the overall investigation.  May you be with the family of the man who lost his life in the other vehicle and also uphold them by Your mighty power. May your grace and mercies especially be with this officers family and may your peace that transcends all understanding settle on their hearts and minds.  May many members of the Fairfax County Police Department know how much they are loved by the Lord and how blessed is the man (or woman) who chooses to take refuge in HIM.  May many officers and colleagues of this injured officer be drawn to you Lord who is the only One who can and will provide them a peace that passes all understanding. May many come to know You, Lord, in a real and personal way, this we ask in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
