Our Merciful Lord, Your word says the police officer, “…is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing”. So Lord, as these two Sacramento officers were acting as Your servants and serving their community, we come into Your Presence to lift these two wounded peacemakers before Your Throne of Grace. As both are expected to physically recover, we know they are both experiencing a multitude of emotions to include being spiritually challenged from this near death encounter. As both have been treated at a hospital, may You continue to grant Your healing touch to be upon their mind, body and soul and draw them ever so close to Your heart. May they know Your Word says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” As the families of these officers were emotionally and spiritually challenged today, may You draw them close to Your side and uphold them by Your amazing grace. We ask You, Lord, to pour out an extra measure of Your grace and mercy upon the entire Sacramento Police Department and surrounding agencies as they cope with these recent attacks upon Your peacemakers. Lord, may You use all of these attacks upon Your peacemakers to draw them and their families and co-workers ever so close to Your Side for You said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” May You open the hearts of many law enforcement officers to look inward and examine their hearts to know that their hearts are desperately wicked and in need of a Savior. May Your Holy Spirit speak to thousands of law enforcement officers across the U.S. and abroad and allow many to know they can receive eternal life as follows, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” May many law enforcement officers invite and receive Jesus as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
