Our Gracious Lord, every day, the dangers law enforcement officers across America and abroad face are many as exemplified by Buffalo Police Chief Terry "TJ" Behning who was struck by a vehicle during a pursuit. So Lord, as the news reports indicate he is in critical condition, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift him into Your Presence and seek  your healing power and touch to be upon his life.  We are so thankful to You Lord, first and foremost, for sparing his life.  And as he is being treated at a trauma center, we ask You to continue to pour out Your wisdom upon the doctors and entire medical staff and grant them insight and knowledge to be able to properly treat his injuries and restore him to full health.  We ask you to touch the heart and mind of Chief Behning and ask that Your mercies and grace be made ever so real to him.  May You especially be with his many co-workers, friends and family members and sustain them with Your grace and peace as they rally around him and support him at this very emotional time.  May Your grace, peace, mercy, love, comfort and most of all Your Presence, surround him and reveal to him how much You love him.  And if he does not know You personally, may You draw him close to Your side where he may know Your Word says, “Now is the day of salvation”.  May Your peace that passes all understanding draw him and his family ever so close to Your heart.  May You bring about a full healing without any further complications.  May Chief Behning know Your word says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”  As we know his family is at his side right now and deeply concerned, we ask You to wrap Your arms around every family member and draw them ever so close to your Side.  May Your peace that passes all understanding settle gently in their hear in their hearts and spirits.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
