Our Father in Heaven,  we thank you that you are our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. And for that reason Lord, we thank YOU for sparing the life of not only this wounded deputy but every other deputy who was at that scene.  As the news reports the deputy accidentally shot himself in the leg, we ask that you would continue to grant the medical staff wisdom to effectively treat his injuries and restore him to full health.  May your peace, grace and mercy settle upon the family of this injured deputy and may You uphold them with Your Mighty Arms of Love.   We also lift up the many co-workers with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy who were present when this incident occurred as they continue to rally around and support their injured colleague. As this near-death encounter may affect each deputy present, we seek your peace that passes all understanding settle upon them and sustain them with Your Presence and grace.  As we know you are the one who heals the brokenhearted and binds their wounds, we therefore also ask for Your merciful touch to be upon the hearts and minds of the deputies, their families and the entire Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department.  May your Holy Spirit grant them strength and grace as they come together in the bonds of love supporting each other at this emotional time.  May you also be with all of the first responders, paramedics and medical personnel who were involved in treating this injured law enforcement officers.  May your Holy Spirit settle upon their mind and spirit and grant them peace in their hearts.  May you continue to touch the mind and spirit of every law enforcement officer involved in that incident and investigation and uphold them with your Holy Spirit.  May You grant the investigators wisdom to investigate this incident and prevent future similar incidents.  May You, Lord, bring hope and encouragement to every law enforcement officer and family member.  Most importantly, may Your words resonate in the hearts of many as follows, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction.”  May many be drawn to the Love of Jesus Christ where there is endless mercy and grace and may many have an opportunity to come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord, this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
