| Our Merciful Lord, it is Your amazing grace we seek to continually be upon Your peacemakers across America and, once again, seek Your grace, mercy and healing touch to be upon a wounded Anniston police officer. As we lift this wounded officer before Your Throne of Grace, O’ Lord, we want to continue to pray for all law enforcement officers as follows, “Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge. I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” As the news reports indicate this officer was shot in the abdomen and is expected to survive, we know it could have been much more serious had it not been because of Your amazing grace. Thank You Lord for sparing his life. Lord, we lift up this wounded officer into Your Presence and ask You to pour out Your love, grace peace, mercy and comfort on his heart and mind as he comes to grips with this near-death encounter. May Your love draw him ever so close to Your side. May you especially be with the officers family as they, too, come to grips with this near-tragedy. Most importantly, Lord, we ask You to pour out an extra measure of Your grace upon the men and women of the Anniston Police Department as they cope with this attempted murder upon one of their colleagues. As the news reports the suspect was killed by return fire from other officers, may You fill the investigators with supernatural wisdom as they piece together the details of this incident. May Your angels encamp around every member of the Anniston Police Department and keep them safe from all harm and danger. Preserve their hearts and mind from having to endure any affects of short-term and long term emotional trauma brought on by incidents like these. May You draw this wounded officer ever so close to Your side and if he does not know You, may he know Your Word says that. “Now is the day of salvation.” May Your protecting hand continue to be upon every law enforcement officer across America. May they always remain vigilant and may they always remember their training. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. |
