Our Merciful Lord, The first week of November, 2017, has been extremely rough upon Your servants across North America.  We must again, seek Your grace and mercy, this time upon the men and women of the Abbotsford Police Department as they are in deep mourning from the on-duty murder of one of their officers.  O’ God, as we know the pain is just ever so great, we come boldly and humbly into Your Presence to lift up those grieving ever so great at this tragic loss.  We especially lift up the wife of this fallen peacemaker into Your loving arms and ask You to sustain her and the entire family with Your Presence, Your Love, and Your amazing grace.  Lord, we are so thankful the suspect was apprehended and ask You to grant wisdom to the investigators to gather the facts behind this deadly incident.  Even as the suspect is being treated, we seek Your mercy upon him and draw him unto Your Side, even though he must face justice.  Lord, may Your words as follow bring comfort to those grieving and mourning as follows, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted”; “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”; “Cast all your cares on [the Lord], because he cares for you.”  Finally Lord, as the Abbotsford Police Department must begin to make preparations for a final farewell to their fallen comrade, may You fill them with grace and comfort as they go through this difficult process.  May You raise up Godly chaplains and officers to be a representative of Your Son and point many unto the Cross.  May this final service bring Glory to Your name and point many unto His love and forgiveness, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
