Our Father in Heaven, We again come into thy presence to lift up another one of Your peacemaker-servants critically wounded in the line of duty.  Lord, as the news reports indicate this trooper was in extremely critical but stable condition and was undergoing surgery, we ask for Your hands of mercy to have been upon him and ask You to spare his life.  May You be with the medical professionals and grant them wisdom and insight in order to effectively diagnose, treat and heal his wounds and restore him to full health. May Your grace and presence be with the second Trooper who was present who had to use deadly force.  As we know incidents like this can cause stress not only upon the injured officer, but upon his co-workers and especially his family; we seek Your grace, peace, comfort, and mercy to be upon all of them and may use this incident to draw many ever so close to Your side.  We are also so thankful the wounded suspect has been apprehended.  May You grant the investigators wisdom to gather the facts surrounding this attempted murder of a peace officer. May Your grace be poured out upon this wounded troopers family as they are at this side supporting and loving him at this very emotional time.  May You use this near-tragedy to cause many to search their hearts and seek You to fill any emptiness in their hearts.  May Your mercies and comfort also settle upon the many other first responders and paramedics who were at that scene who worked so feverishly to save this wounded trooper.  Thank you, Lord, for using these first responders to save his life.  May Your Presence continue to touch the mind, body and soul of this wounded peacemaker.   And if he does not know You personally, may he come to know You to be his Hope and Confidence and that You will always be a Strong Refuge and Lifter of his soul.  May Your mercy, grace and peace touch the hearts of every member of the Pennsylvania State Police.  May You be their Rock, Fortress, Deliver and an ever-present comfort to their hearts.  May You, Lord, use this near death encounter to bring many troopers and family members not only close to You, but also close to each other.  O’ Lord, as these attacks on Your servants are increasing, may You intervene and surround every peacemaker with Your Shield.  May many be drawn unto Your side and be given an opportunity to personally know Your Son, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
