Praying for the Colorado Department of Corrections in the off-duty murder of their Executive Director, Tom Clements

Our Gracious Lord, We come before your wonderful Throne of Grace to seek you mercy, peace and love in this senseless murder of the Chief of the Colorado Department of Corrections. Lord, we know the men and women of the Colorado Department of Corrections are mourning deeply and we therefore ask for your comfort to sweetly settle upon them. May you especially grant an extra measure of grace to the family members who are obviously shocked and stunned. Lord, we want to lift up every correctional officer across the U.S. and their families and ask for your hand of protection to be upon them. May you encamp your angels around each of them on-duty and especially off-duty. Lord, may you reveal yourself to each officer and family member that You love them. May they know they can always cast their cares upon You for You care immensely for them. Your word says, “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. ” May the power of your word penetrate, comfort and encourage every correctional officer and their family. May they know they can call on you 24/7/365. May you provide a peace in their hearts that passes all understanding. May your name be lifted high and may many officers and family members come to know You, Lord, in a real and personal way, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
