Lord Jesus, We come into Your Presence to lift up a wounded Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy who was shot in the arm. As the news reports indicate his wound was not considered life-threatening, we thank you that his life was spared especially during this Christmas season) and now ask you, Lord, to grant the doctors and other medical professionals wisdom and insight in order to effectively treat and completely restore this deputy to full health. May you especially settle your peace, grace and love upon the family of this wounded deputy as they rally around him to love and support him as he undergoes treatment. May your grace also extend to the men and women of the entire Knox County Sheriff’s Department who are deeply concerned for their friend and co-worker. May your peace that passes all understanding guard the hearts and minds of every deputy. May Your grant the investigators wisdom to gather the facts surrounding this encounter. May the members of the Knox County Sheriff’s Department be granted an extra measure of Your Grace and Mercy as they cope with the near loss of a co-worker. As we know incidents like this can cause emotional trauma in the present and in the future, we therefore ask you, Lord, to send your endless mercies upon this wounded peacemaker and the other deputies and first responders who were initially at that incident and may You preserve their hearts and minds in You. May every member of the Knox County Sheriff’s Department know Your word says, “The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm.” May many deputies and family members be given an opportunity to know the Love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ—especially this Christmas week, this was ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.
