Praying for the Douglas County (CO) Sheriff’s Department in the on-duty ambush-murder of a deputy and four other wounded deputies

O’ God, for the third time in the past few days, officers across America have been ambushed and shot. O’ Lord, it is only You to whom we can go for divine and supernatural help. O’ Lord we are reminded that at the end of all days, Your word says, “the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” As we know the truth of Your Word, You also said, You were, “not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” First, Lord, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift up these four wounded deputies who are being treated for varying wounds. We ask You to grant the many medical doctors, nurses and other medical personnel wisdom to properly treat their wounds and apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. We seek Your Presence, comfort, grace and peace to touch these wounded deputies as they are recovering from this horrific attack in which they lost a comrade. As this attack has also affected countless family members of these deputies, we ask You to pour out an endless measure of Your grace, love, peace, comfort, and most of all Your Presence upon their hearts and minds as they support their loved one at this very emotional times. We especially lift up the family of this fallen deputy into Your Loving Arms. May Your Holy Spirit surround them with Your love and amazing grace as You carry them through this very difficult time of loss. Additionally, we lift up the men and woman of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department as they have been deeply affected by this horrific attack upon Your Servants. As there was an army of paramedics, fire-fighters, emergency personnel and allied law enforcement officers who responded to that scene, we know, they, too were deeply affected and in need of a gracious touch of the Master’s hand upon their hearts and souls. May Your grace carry them through having to have witnessed that massive carnage. Grant the investigators wisdom to piece together this horrific scene. Lord, in the coming weeks, as the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department must begin the preparations for a final farewell, may You raise up godly deputies and others to be a hope and light to many with broken hearts. May Your Son be glorified through this final service for this fallen deputy. May You cause every American to be awakened that we are in the last days and to be ready for Your Coming for Your word says, “There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.” O’ Lord, bring about good through this tragedy, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
