O’ God, it is Your Mercy we seek for every law enforcement officer in America for we know these continued attacks upon Your servants are just an example of a deeper problem with sin in America. Nevertheless, Lord, we come before Your Throne of grace to lift up these three wounded law enforcement officers with the Henry County Sheriff’s Department and the Locust Grove Police Department who were all shot in the line of duty during the same incident. As the news reports two were airlifted to local hospitals and the third taken by ground ambulance, we ask You to already have in place the correct medical specialists who are ready to provide these wounded servants with the best possible medical care. May You fill these doctors with wisdom to quickly diagnose and treat their injuries and restore them to full health. We thank You, Lord, for the gift of medicine and for using others to spare the lives of these peacemakers. May Your Presence and peace touch each of Your wounded peacemakers and draw them ever so close to Your Side. Spare their lives O’ God. May Your mercies and grace extend to the many first responders and medical staff who were responsible for treating these wounded law enforcement officers. As the families of these servants are just being notified and responding to the hospital, may your Holy Spirit settle upon their hearts and minds and calm their spirits with Your amazing grace. May Your mercies and grace also extend to the many other co-workers and allied law enforcement agencies who responded to assist at this crime scene. May Your love, grace, mercy, peace, Presence and comfort touch the men and women of the Henry County Sheriff’s Department and the Locust Grove Police Department as they rally arouond their wounded comrades. We are so very thankful the suspect was stopped but lost his life in this confrontation. Most importantly Lord, we continue to lift up the family members of these wounded law enforcement officers and ask for Your grace and strength to settle upon their minds and hearts and provide them a peace that passes comprehension. And as we know traumatic incidents like these can cause long term emotional trauma, may Your Holy Spirit settle upon the heart of these wounded law enforcement officers and any others affected, may You sustain them with Your mighty arms of love and Your amazing grace. May You continue to grant the investigators supernatural wisdom and insight to effectively investigate all aspects of this crime. May You use this life-threatening situation to cause many to reflect inwardly at their hearts and souls. If these wounded law enforcement officers or any others do not know of Your unending love, may You draw them ever so close to Your Son in whom there is everlasting life. May many come to receive Him as their Savior and Lord. Continue to grant Your peace and grace to Your wounded servants who faced mortality tonight and survived. May Your words bring comfort to many as follows: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” ; “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” May Your love reign supreme in the hearts of many, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
