Our Merciful Lord, we come before Your Throne of Grace to lift up two Greek law enforcement officers wounded in the line of duty during a call in the western part of Greece. As the news reports one officer was shot in the abdomen and the other shot in the leg, we seek Your divine intervention for Your servant-peacemakers. May Your mercy, grace, love, presence and comfort descend upon them as they are treated at a local hospital. May You fill the medical doctors with wisdom to continue to diagnose their wounds and then apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. As we know these law enforcement officers had to face this near-death encounter, we thank You, Lord, for sparing their lives. As the news reports the suspect was also taken into custody after being shot, we are thankful no one else was harmed. May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to gather all of the facts surrounding this near-death encounter. As there are thousands of other law enforcement officers protecting the Country of Greece, may Your protecting hand be on them at all times and keep them safe as they protect and serve. May the countless law enforcement officers in Greece know Your Word says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” May Your protecting hand be upon every law enforcement officer in Greece at all times. May You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to reach out to anyone in need. May Your mercies and grace especially touch the families of these two wounded officers and draw them ever so close to your Side. May they know they can cast their cares upon your because You care for them, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
