Our Merciful Lord, for the second time today, we come before Your Throne of Grace to lift up a seriously injured correctional officer—this time with the North Carolina Department of Corrections who was stabbed with a shank by an inmate. As the news reports the officer suffered multiple wounds, O’ Lord, we are so thankful to You for sparing his life. May you grant the investigators wisdom to gather all of the facts and evidence in this incident to hold the inmate accountable for this attempted murder upon one of your peacemaker-servants. We continue to lift this wounded officer into Your loving arms. May You pour out Your love, grace, mercy, peace and comfort upon his heart and mind. As this officer is being treated at a local hospital, may You grant the medical doctors wisdom and insight to accurately diagnose his injuries and then apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. And as this officers’ family is at his side supporting him through this near-death experience, may you comfort them by the power of Your Holy Spirit and draw them ever so close together in the bonds of love. O’ Lord, as there are countless correctional officers across America on-duty every day of the year, continue to surround them with Your Holy Spirit and supernaturally protect them as they must mingle with inmates every day who are filled with hate and evil. May every correctional officer remember their training, and should any more planned or spontaneous attacks occur, may Your Holy Spirt supernaturally stop these attacks upon Your servant-peacemakers. May every correctional officer know Your word says that, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world”. May correctional officers across America know how much You love them and may they surrender their hearts and lives to You as You supernaturally protect with Your love, grace, power and mercy. May You continue to heal this wounded officer and draw him unto the love of Your Son, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
