Our Merciful Lord, we come in deep earnest before Your Throne of Grace to lift up a wounded Highlands County Sheriff's deputy who was shot in the line of duty. As the news reports his/her condition is unknown, we seek Your immediate divine intervention and touch upon this wounded peacemaker as he/she is being treated at a hospital. Whatever condition the deputy is in, we seek Your healing touch to be upon this deputy and spare his/her life. May You grant the doctors with supernatural wisdom and insight to use every but of their training and experience to spare the life of this deputy. May You guide their hearts and minds in every decision. As the deputy’s family is likely just being notified and/or just arriving at the hospital, we ask You to pour out Your peace that passes all understanding upon their hearts and souls as they face the unknown. May this wounded deputy and family members deeply know and experience our Presence, love, grace, peace, mercy and most of all, the comfort of the Holy Spirit at all times. As this wounded deputy is likely in pain or sedated, we ask You to settle the sweet presence of Your Holy Spirit on his/her heart and be drawn unto Your side. If this deputy does not know You, may You allow him/her to receive You as Savior and Lord. We are so thankful that the suspect has been arrested. Fill the investigators with wisdom and they investigate this incident. As we know the men and women of the Highlands County Sheriff's Department have been affected emotionally and spiritually, may Your Holy Spirit uphold them by Your Amazing Grace. May these words of comfort resonate in every members hearts, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” And, “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” Lord, may You heal Your servant and may Your name be Glorified though this incident, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
