Our Father in Heaven, We come into Your Presence again, Lord, to lift up another one of Your peacemakers, this time, intentionally attacked/injured in the line of duty. As the news reports the deputy suffered serious injuries and is expected to survive, we seek Your healing touch to be upon this deputy’s heart, mind and body. Thank You, Lord, for sparing his life and allowing his partner to stop the suspect from harming him any further. May You empower the doctors and medical professionals with wisdom to be able to accurately and swiftly diagnose his injuries and apply the appropriate treatment. May Your mercies and grace touch the body of this deputy and sustain him with Your Arms of Love. May he make a full recovery in body, spirit and mind. We are so thankful the suspects were apprehended and ask for Your mercies to be upon these suspects as they will eventually face judgment for their actions. As another deputy was forced to fire his weapon in which the suspect nearly lost her life, may Your peace and mercy touch their hearts and minds as they had to endure this deadly scenario. May Your love, grace, peace, mercy and everlasting comfort settle upon the heart and mind of every deputy at this incident. May Your amazing grace especially descend upon the family of this injured deputy and his colleagues as they are rally around him to love and support him at this very emotional time. Lord, as we know this attempted murder of a Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputy will affect many co-workers and others in the local law enforcement community, may Your grace and love surround them and hold them ever so tightly in Your Hands. May You raise up chaplains and other Godly officers to be a beacon of light to this injured deputy and any others who were involved in this near-death encounter. If this injured deputy does not know You personally, may You remove the scales from his eyes and heart and reveal to him the love of Your Son in whom there is everlasting life. O’ Lord, let Your peace that passes all understanding settle in the hearts of this injured deputy, his family and in the heart of every member of the every Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department. Lord, preserve the hearts and minds of those affected and spare them from any short-term or long-term emotional trauma. May You use this incident Lord, to open the hearts of many to know and receive the salvation of Your Son in whom there is everlasting life. May You use this to draw many who may have fallen away from You and may You welcome them back into Your arms of Loving kindness, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
