Our Gracious and Merciful Lord, for the third time this past week, another law enforcement officer has lost his life from an on-duty collision. We, again Lord, seek Your grace, peace and comfort upon the Savannah Police Department as they mourn the loss of Officer Anthony Christie. May You pour out Your Peace and Your Presence on this department as they are grieving the loss of their dear friend and comrade. May You grant the traffic investigators wisdom and insight as they investigate this collision that resulted in the loss of life of one of Your Peacemakers. Most importantly, Lord, we lift up the family of Officer Christie who are obviously in shock and mourning ever so greatly at the loss of their loved one. Therefore, may Your Word dwell richly in their hearts as follows, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” And, “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” As we know this loss has affected many friends and co-workers with the Savannah Police Department, may the comfort of Your Holy Spirit descend upon their hearts and draw them ever so close to Your Side to intimately know Your Amazing Grace. And as the men and women of the Savannah Police Department must begin to make preparations for a final farewell to Officer Christie, may You prepare the hearts of many to hear Your Words and may you raise up chaplains and Godly Officers to be a representative of Your Son in the coming days. May the name of Your Son be lifted high and may many be drawn to Him and receive him as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
