Praying for the Brookhaven (MS) Police Department in the on-duty murder of two officers

Our Merciful Lords, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift up the
men and women of the Brookhaven Police Department who are in shock and mourning
ever so greatly at this horrific loss of two officers. Because Your word tells
us You are our Rock, Fortress and an ever-present help in times of trouble, we
earnestly lift up the entire Brookhaven Police Department and place them into
Your loving arms. Lord, may your sustaining grace, peace and mercy touch the
hearts and souls of the men and women of the Brookhaven Police Department at
this horrific loss of their der friends and co-workers. May your love, peace,
mercy and grace especially be with the families of these two fallen officers as
they endure this great loss as we know they are mourning and grieving ever so
greatly. May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to piece together
the facts of this tragic incident in which the suspect also died and another in
custdy. As the members of the Brookhaven Police Department will now have to make
preparations to say a final farewell to their dear friends and co-workers, may
the power of your Holy Spirit settle upon each officer and grant them strength
in their hearts, minds and spirits to carry them through this very difficult
time. May the love of Jesus be made real to each of them. May every officer,
family member and friend intimately know that no matter what, You will never
leave them nor forsake those who love you and have received you into their
hearts. May they know that You do not want anyone to perish but to come to
repentance in You alone. May many be drawn to the Cross of Christ where there is
mercy and grace. May your comfort settle upon every Brookhaven Police officer
and family member. Hold them so very close to your heart. May You raise up
chaplains and other Christian officers to bring comfort to all. May Your words
as follows speak to many hearts, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in
all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any
affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
Lastly may your word resonate in the hearts of many as follows, “And we know
that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been
called according to his purpose”; this we ask in the precious name of Jesus
Christ, Amen.
