O’ God, our hearts are deeply broken at this horrific attack upon Your peacemakers in Florence City and County. So Lord, we come in great need before Your Throne of Grace as we lift up the men and women of the Florence County Police and Sheriff’s Departments who were so brutally and viciously assaulted as they were performing their duties to protect and serve their community. We want to lift up the family of Officer Terrence Carraway into Your Arms of love and mercy as they are in shock at this tragic loss of their loved one. May Your amazing grace supernaturally touch their lives as there are in shock and mourning ever so greatly at this horrific loss. We also want to lift up the seven other law enforcement officers who were also wounded during this incident. As their conditions are not immediately known, we ask You to touch the minds and bodies of these wounded servants. May You grant the medical staff wisdom and insight to accurately diagnose and treat their many wounds/injuries and bring about a full recovery. As the suspect was successfully taken into custody, may You grant the investigative team wisdom and depth of insight as they investigate and gather evidence at this massive crime scene. May Your Holy Spirit guide their every move. We also want to lift up the men and women of the Florence County Sheriff and Police Departments as we know this has greatly affected every member ever so deeply. May Your love, grace, peace, mercy, Presence and most of all Your comfort settle upon them and sustain them just as a Loving Father can. May those who are deeply troubled in their heart and mind let Your Words resonate in their hearts as follows, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” And, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” O’ Lord, law enforcement officers across America need Your divine Presence and intervention in everything they do. May You forever be their Rock, Fortress and Deliver and an ever-present help in times of trouble. As this attack has affected countless family members, may Your grace supernaturally carry them through the coming days and weeks as this tragedy is played over and over in their minds. And as the Florence Police Department must begin to make preparations to say a final farewell to Officer Carraway, may You use this final service as a time to draw many law enforcement officers ever so clos to Your Son, Jesus. And if any officers have strayed from Your Presence, may You draw them back to Your side by Your love and mercy. May You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a representative of Your Love and may many hear the Gospel and be given an opportunity to receive Your Son into their hearts. May You take this tragedy and bring about good to many, this we ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.
