O’ Lord, We are so grateful for Your mercies and grace upon this wounded Massachusetts State Police Trooper and are so thankful that You spared his life. As the news reports he is in stable condition and has undergone suergery, we ask you to grant the doctor’s continued wisdom and insight to accurately diagnose and treat his stab wounds. We, therefore, lift up this trooper before Your Throne of Grace and ask You to wrap Your loving arms around him as he recovers from this near-death experience. May Your peace that passes all understanding sustain this trooper and may he be drawn ever close to Your side for the continuing comfort of Your Holy Spirit. May Your mercy, grace, love, peace and everlasting comfort especially settle upon the family of this trooper as they, too, had to endure the near loss of their loved one. May Your grace additionally touch every member of the Massachusetts State Police Department as they rally around to support this wounded trooper and his family. As this trooper had to use deadly force in which a suspect was wounded, we ask You to pour out Your grace upon the family of this suspect. Lord, may You use this life threatening incident as a reminder and training aid to other law enforcement officers across America and the world to forever be vigilant in everything they do and may they never become complaisant. Lastly Lord, if there are any law enforcement officers who are struggling spiritually or emotionally as a result of this incident, may they know that You ordained their job as a peacemaker to protect and serve their community wherever they may be. May many law enforcement officers come to recognize their need to draw near to You for You will then draw near to them. May they know Your word says, "The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you..." Deuteronomy 33:27. Finally, may many come to receive Your forgiveness and receive Your Son as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
