Our Gracious Lord, We come with broken hearts as we lift up the men and women of the Greensboro Police Department in the on-duty traffic fatality of Officer Jared Franks and for a second injured officer. O’ Lord, we know that whenever a co-worker is lost, there is a deep emptiness in the hearts of many that only Your love, grace, comfort and mercies can touch and heal. So Lord, we come before Your Awesome throne of Grace to seek Your mercies and comfort for the Greensboro Police Department as they mourn this traffic loss of Officer Franks. May your presence carry them through this very emotional time. As we know the family of Officer Franks is hurting ever so greatly, we ask You to pour out Your love, grace, peace, mercy and everlasting love upon them to carry them through this time of mourning. We also want to bring before Your Throne of Grace this second injured officer who was injured in that collision. May You grant the doctors with wisdom and insight to effectively treat his injuries and allow him to return to full health. May You grant the investigators insight and wisdom to piece together the details of this accident in which two police cruisers collided with each other. As this horrific collision has affected so many families, we ask for supernatural grace to descend upon them and uphold them with Your Mighty Arms of love. Lord, as the Greensboro Police Department must now begin the task of preparing a final farewell to for Officer Franks, may You use this time of grief as an opportunity to point many to the Cross. May You cause many officers, co-workers and family members to examine their hearts and souls. May You use this tragedy to draw many unto the love of Your Son. May they know Your word says, “for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” May You raise up Godly officers, Chaplains and others to be a Light to others at this dark time. May many come to know Your comfort and ultimately receive Your Son as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
