Our Lord Jesus, we, again, come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift up a wounded Hurricane Police Sgt. Phillip Armentrout into Your Healing Arms. As the news reports he is in stable condition after being shot in the leg, we ask You to give the doctors an extra measure of grace and wisdom as they continue to diagnose and treat his wound and bring about a full recovery. We are thankful that other officers engaged the suspect with gunfire who unfortunately lost his life. As this investigation continues, we ask You to give the investigators wisdom and insight to gather all of the facts surrounding this attempted murder on another one of Your Peacemakers. Lord, we ask You to pour out Your grace and comfort upon every member of the Hurricane Police Department as they reflect on the near loss of one of their co-workers. May the men and women of the Hurricane Police Department and allied law enforcement officers everywhere rely on Your words of encouragement as follows, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Yes, Lord, thank You for the truth and power of Your Word upon these officers. O’ Lord, as this week and new year has begun for law enforcement officers across America and the world, may You continue to forever be that “Rock, Fortress and Deliverer”, for every law enforcement officer in everything that they do. May You be with the family of Sgt. Phillip Armentrout as they are at the hospital with him right now. May they intimately know Your peace, presence, comfort and grace in the midst of this near-death experience. Lord, may law enforcement officers remember to be strong in Your Power and always put on the whole armor of God, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
