Our Merciful Lord, the law enforcement community is again numb with pain and sorrow at this tragic loss of Officer Natalie Corona who was taken at such a young age. O’ God, we need Your Presence, comfort and grace to settle upon the men and women of the Davis Police Department as we know they are deeply brokenhearted at the loss of one of their colleagues. We especially seek Your love, grace, mercy, peace and Presence to settle upon the family of Officer Davis who are in deep mourning at this loss of their loved one. And as we know this has affected countless other paramedics, firefighters and medical personnel who worked feverishly to save her life, we ask You to pour out Your amazing grace and comfort upon them to carry them through this difficult time. May You grant the investigators with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department wisdom and insight to gather the facts behind this horrific incident in which the suspect took his own life. May every member of the Davis Police Department and allied agencies involved in this incident be comforted with Your words as follows: “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”; “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Lord, as we know the men and women of the Davis Police Department are heartbroken, may Your Holy Spirit draw every officer and co-worker unto Your Son in whom there is abundant peace and grace for You said, “Peace I leave, My peace I give unto you”. Lord, by Your grace, may you prevent any law enforcement officer from enduring any short-term or long-term emotional and spiritual trauma. Finally, as the Davis Police Department will be preparing a final farewell for Officer Corona, may many be drawn unto the love of Your Son at this service. May any who may have strayed from Your path be brought back into Your loving arms, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
