Our Merciful Lord, we come in great earnest before Your Throne of Grace to lift up a Portage County Sheriff's Deputy into Your Healing Arms who was intentionally burned while trying to arrest a suspect. As the news reports the deputy suffered severe burns, we especially seek Your Grace and healing touch to be upon him as he is currently being treated at a burn unit. O’ Lord, we pray that You would provide this deputy with the correct medical specialists to effectively diagnose his injuries and then apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. Lord, as this deputy is in obvious pain and suffering greatly, we ask for Your grace to touch him and to allow the doctors and medical staff to aid him through this horrific and unexpected incident. As we know this injured deputy’s family is at his side, may they know Your Holy Spirit will be with them as their loved one is being treated. May this injured deputy and his co-workers who were present and witnessed this carnage intimately know Your love, grace, mercy, presence and most of all the comfort of Your Holy Spirit carrying through this near-death experience. May they know Your word says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” In the coming weeks and months as this deputy recovers, may You draw him ever so close to Your Side as he reflects on this near-death experience. May these deputies know Your Word says to, come to me all who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest. May these deputies each be drawn unto the love of Your Son and may they come to receive You as their savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
