O’ Lord, For the second time today, we come
before Your Throne of Grace as we are so grateful for Your wonderful mercies
to have been upon Deputy Joseph Ford and are so thankful that
You spared his life. As the news reports his wound is not considered
life-threatening, we ask you to grant the doctor’s wisdom and insight to
accurately diagnose and treat his wounds and restore him to full health.
We, therefore, lift up Deputy Ford into Your Presence and ask You to wrap
Your loving arms around him as he recovers from this near-death experience.
May Your peace that passes all understanding sustain him and may he be drawn
ever close to Your side for the continuing comfort of Your Holy Spirit.
May Your mercy, grace, love and everlasting comfort especially settle upon
the family Deputy Ford as they, too, endured the near loss of their loved
one. May Your grace additionally touch every member of the Barren
County Sheriff’s Department and the Glasgow Police
Department as they rally around to support Deputy Ford and his family.
May Your grace and mercies touch the many paramedics, first-responders and
doctors who treated Deputy Ford from this traumatic attack. Lord, may
You use these life-threatening incidents as a reminder and training aid to
law enforcement officers across America to continue to forever be vigilant
in everything they do. Lastly Lord, as we know incidents like these
can emotionally and/or spiritually challenge the hearts and souls of not
only the officers involved, but also the men and women of the Barren
County Sheriff’s Department and the Glasgow Police
Department. May Your amazing grace settle in their hearts and minds and draw
them close to Your side for Your word says, “The Lord is
good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in
him.” May every laws enforcement officer
know that You ordained their jobs as a peacemaker to protect and serve their
community wherever they may be. Continue to touch Deputy Ford and draw
him close to Your side. May many law enforcement officers come to
recognize their need to draw near to You for You will then draw near to
them. May many come to receive Your forgiveness and receive Your Son
as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
