Our Mighty Lord, we come before You with hearts of gratitude and thanksgiving that the life of another one of Your peacemakers was spared by Your mercies. Lord, we, therefore, lift up this wounded Indianapolis Metro police officer before Your Throne of Grace Lord and ask for Your healing touch to continue to be upon him as he is being treated at a hospital. May You grant the doctor’s wisdom and insight to be able to accurately diagnose his injuries and then apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. May You reveal to the heart and mind of this wounded officer Your amazing and unending love, grace, peace and comfort of Your Holy Spirit. May Your mercies also touch the family of this wounded officer as they are at his side supporting and loving him at this very emotional time. May Your grace additionally extend to the many co-workers and friends of this officer and uphold them with Your arms of love. Lord, we also ask You to give the investigators wisdom as they piece together the details of this incident. May Your mercies and grace gently settle upon the hearts and minds of the men and women of the Metro Department and draw them ever so close to Your side for comfort as they cope with this near loss of a co-worker and friend. May Your grace extend to the many other officers, firefighters and paramedics who responded to that scene and surround them with Your love as they had to witness this carnage up close. May Your word as follow strengthen every law enforcement officer, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. “ And, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” May Your Holy Spirit reveal the Love of Your Son to the many who were present at that scene. And if the wounded officer or any other officer or victim does not know You personally, may Your Holy Spirit draw them unto Your side where they may have an opportunity to receive Your Son as they Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
