Our Father in Heaven, We come before Your wonderful Throne of Grace to lift up a wounded Chattanooga Police Officer.  As the news reported that this wounded officer was in stable condition; we seek Your continued mercies to be poured out upon this wounded officer and ask that You would continue to guide the medical professionals to properly diagnose and treat his wounds and bring about a full recovery.  Most importantly, Lord, may Your grace, peace, mercy and comfort be made evident to the family of the wounded officer and his co-workers and may they be drawn ever so close to Your Side.  May Your peace continue to settle upon the heart of the wounded officer, and may Your grace, love, comfort and unending love be made real in his heart and spirit. May Your Word as follows ring true in their hearts of this wounded officer and the men and women of the Chattanooga Police Department, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”  So, Lord, may Your grace and mercies gently settle upon the many other police officers, medics and medical professionals who were involved in the initial care and treatment of this wounded officer as they, too, may often experience the same emotional trauma as the wounded officer.  As a search is still underway for a suspect, may You fill the investigators with wisdom and insight to use their skills and training in order to bring this suspect to justice.  May Your amazing grace surround the men and women of the Chattanooga Police Department and allied law enforcement officers as they are searching for this suspect.  May You forever be their Rock, Fortress and Deliverer and an ever-present help in their time of need.  And if this suspect tries to harm any more peacemakers, may You cause his weapon to malfunction or misfire.  May You cause this suspect to be unable to sleep or rest and be guilt-ridden until he is captured or surrenders.  As this wounded officers’ co-workers and family are rallying around their wounded officer, may You raise up chaplains and other Godly officers to be a beacon of Your Presence.  And as this wounded officer will begin the healing process in the days ahead, may he sense Your presence in his heart and mind at all times and may he be drawn ever so close to Your side.  Grant him an amazing peace together with Your amazing grace to carry him through the days ahead.  May You preserve his heart and mind in Your arms of love and grace in order to prevent him from enduring any long-term emotional trauma.  And if this officer or even the suspect does not know Your love, may Your Holy Spirit draw them unto Your side where they can seek Salvation found only in Your Son and receive everlasting life.  May your name be forever glorified, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
