Our Father in Heaven, these past 24 hours have been very difficult for law enforcement officers across the globe. We, first, come before Your throne of mercy and grace to lift up the men and women of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department as they mourn and grieve this tragic on-duty fatality of Deputy Dailey. As we know the hearts of so many are broken, we ask You to pour out Your amazing grace upon them and sustain them with Your love, Your Presence and Your comfort. May Deputy Dailey’s family be filled with Your love and grace as Your Holy Spirit carries them through this horrific time of loss. We next come boldly into Your present to lift up a seriously injured South Caroline Highway Patrol Trooper, Deputy Roy Hall and Constable Jacob Vella. As these three peacemakers are all in the hospital, may You surround them with the utmost care and continue to guide the doctors with wisdom and insight to identify their wounds/injuries and them apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery for each. And as their family members of these servants are at their side, may You touch them with grace, peace, mercy and comfort to know You are with them and will carry them through this time of uncertainty. May You comfort those in need with Your words as follows, “The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” May Your amazing grace continue to touch the hearts and minds of these wounded/injured servants and may they sense Your Holy Spirit sustaining them. May You grant the investigators in each incident with insight and wisdom to gather facts and details as they investigate each incident. As we know incidents like these can cause short-term and long-term emotional trauma to first responders and co-workers alike, we ask for Your Amazing Grace to touch the hearts of these injured officers, friends and others and keep them ever so close to Your side. May You continue to touch the hearts and minds of these injured peace officers in the hospital and surround them with Your angels. May every member of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, South Carolina Highway Patrol, Lexington County Sheriff’s Department New South Wales Police know Your word says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” May You cause any peace officer who may have strayed from Your path to desire to re-commit their life to You once again. And may many officers who do not know You be given an opportunity to know that now is the acceptable time, that now is the day of salvation. Hear our prayer O’ Lord and continue to pour out Your mercy and grace upon the men and women of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, South Carolina Highway Patrol, Lexington County Sheriff’s Department New South Wales Police, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
