Our Gracious Lord, We want to join with the men and women of the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Department as they mourn the loss of their dear friend and co-worker Deputy Steven G. Netherland.  May your grace and mercy touch the hearts of every co-worker and may your peace sustain them through this difficult time.  May your grace also touch his family who are also in deep mourning from this unexpected tragedy.  May you grant the investigators wisdom and insight to investigate this collision and determine the cause.  As the men and women of the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Department prepare to say farewell to their friend and comrade, may your grace, love, comfort and peace sustain them.  And if any do not know how much You love them, may they be drawn close to Your side where eternal life can be found in Your son.  This we ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.
