Our Father in Heaven, as we know the position of a peace officer is a job created and ordained by You, we are so thankful for the thousands upon thousands of law enforcement officers across the U.S. and the world who regularly place themselves in harm’s way. We therefore come boldly into Your Presence to lift up this seriously wounded New Orleans Police Officer into Your Arms of Grace. As this officer is being treated at a local trauma center, we ask You to place Your healing hands upon him. Lord, we ask You to guide the medical staff at this hospital to guide them in identifying his wounds and then apply the correct remedy to bring about a full recovery. May you fill every medical doctor and nurse with Your Holy Spirit. We are so very grateful to You, Lord, for sparing the life of this wounded peacemaker and for also sparing the lives of the other New Orleans police officers who were involved in that near-death experience. We are especially thankful for the capture of the suspects that they may be brought to justice. As we know the many men and women of the New Orleans Police Department and other allied agencies are deeply concerned for the welfare of their injured friend and co-worker, may Your grace, mercy and comfort uphold them as You carry them through this emotional time. And as the family members of this wounded officer are at the hospital supporting their loved one, we ask You to wrap Your arms of love around each of them and draw them unto Your side. May Your words as follows comfort those in need, “Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“ May Your Holy Spirit touch the heart, mind and body and this wounded officer and may he sense Your Presence and especially Your amazing grace carrying him through this ordeal. And if this officer or anyone else does not know the love of your Son in whom there is everlasting life and forgiveness of sin, may You raise up chaplains and other Godly officers to share Your love. May they know Your word says to, “Come near to God and he will come near to you,” this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
