Our Gracious Lord, today is a very difficult day for the Kendall County Sheriff’s Department in which two officers were intentionally struck by a vehicle in which Deputy Carlos Ramirez lost his life. O Lord, right now, it is only Your amazing grace that can truly carry the men and women of the Kendall County Sheriff’s Department through this very difficult and emotional time. Lord, as one of their deputies is in a local hospital, we ask for Your healing touch to be upon him and restore him to full health. May the doctor’s use their training and wisdom to be able to diagnose his injuries and apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. May Your wisdom be poured out upon the investigators who are looking into the many details surrounding this incident and grant them wisdom to locate and arrest the suspect who murdered one of Your peacemakers. May Your grace, mercy, love and comfort especially touch the family of Deputy Ramirez who lost his life. May You hold them ever so closely to Your Side where they may sense Your peace in the middle of this difficult storm. May Your grace also be with the family of the injured duty as they cope with the near loss of their loved one. May Your word as follows bring comfort to many broken hearts, “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” As we know many other law enforcement officers and first responders went to this very difficult scene, we ask for a touch of the Master’s Hand to be upon every one of them and may they know just how much You love them and will carry them through this valley of the shadow of death. May Your grace preserve the hearts and minds of those struggling from enduring any long-term emotional trauma. May You use this tragedy to cause many other deputies and family members to examine their hearts and be drawn to Your side. As the men and women of the Kendall County Sheriff’s Department will be tasked with preparing a final farewell for Deputy Ramirez, may Your Amazing Grace be made real on the hearts of so many in the days to come. May many know Your word says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” Finally, may anyone who has strayed from Your path, recommit their lives to You and may they be used for Your Glory. May many come to receive You as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
