O’ Merciful Lord, it with a deep sense of urgency we come boldly into your Presence to lift up Trooper Josh Tallman into Your loving arms. As the news reports he is in critical condition and was airlifted to a trauma center where he underwent surgery, we seek Your presence, grace and healing power to continue to settle upon him right now. O’ Lord, You alone are our Rock and our Fortress and our ever-present help in times of trouble, and we, therefore, earnestly come before your Throne of Grace to ask You to spare the life of Trooper Tallman. As he is being treated at a hospital, may You continue to provide the needed medical specialists and doctors to diagnose his wounds and apply the correct treatment and medications to save this peacemaker. As we know the family of Trooper Tallman is at his and are deeply concerned and emotionally affected, we seek Your amazing grace to sustain them through this very difficult time of uncertainty.  May they know Your word says, “"Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."  Lord, may your sustaining grace, peace and mercy touch the hearts and souls of the men and women of the West Virginia State Police as they rally to support their wounded colleague. Continue to pour out Your wisdom on the medical staff to save the life of Your wounded servant. AS the news reports indicate the suspect in this incident has died.  May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to piece together the facts of this tragic.  May Your words as follows speak to the hearts of so many, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” ; and “Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.” So Lord, raise up chaplains and other Christian officers to bring comfort to all. May many know and intimately experience grace and mercy. O’ Lord, spare the life of Your servant, this we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
