Our Merciful Lord, we come in great earnest right now before Your throne of grace to lift up the men and women of the Philadelphia Police Department as they are involved in an active shooter situation in which six officers have been wounded. O’ God, pour out Your mercy and grace upon them right now. Grant the officers in charge of that scene with supernatural wisdom to know how to proceed in order to apprehend the suspect(s) and prevent any more injuries. As this suspect is apparently still firing upon officers, may You, Lord, cause the suspects weapon to misfire or malfunction. May You cause the suspect to surrender. May Your Holy Spirit prevent any further injuries. O’ Lord, as these six officers are being treated for non-life-threatening wounds. May You grant the medical staff wisdom to quickly diagnose their wounds and apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. And as the families of these six officers are likely at the hospital with them, may You wrap Your arms of love and comfort around each of them to carry them, through this very emotional time. As we know there was a small army of medics, fire fighters, EMT’s, doctors and nurses who provided aid to these wounded peace officers, may Your grace touch their hearts and soul, too. So Lord, may every officer at that scene sense Your Presence and Your power with them right now. May every officer remember their training. Lord, may Your word bring hope to all concerned as follows: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” So Lord, may You be a Rock, Fortress and Deliverer to the men and women of the Philadelphia Police Department. May your Presence, power, grace, mercy and comfort, touch every officer, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen. |
