Our Gracious Lord, it is with deep hearts of gratitude that we come before Your Throne of Grace to lift up Deputy Haislip and a university police officer into Your healing arms. As both law enforcement officers are being treated at trauma centers, may You continue to guide the medical doctors with wisdom to be able to identify their respective wounds and then apply any needed corrective surgeries and treatment to bring about a full recovery. May both of these peacemakers intimately sense Your sweet presence in their hearts and may they recognize Your amazing grace as You carry them through their near-death experiences. As we know their families are at their side and have experienced emotional trauma as a result of these incidents. May Your arms of love embrace them and uphold them as You carry them alongside their loved ones. May Your words as follow bring comfort to their hearts, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” And, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” May You grant the investigators wisdom as they gather the facts in both incidents. We especially seek Your mercy, grace and comfort to touch the men and women of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff office and the Grambling State University Police Department as they rally around their wounded comrades and friends. S we know traumatic incidents like these can cause emotional trauma, may Your Holy Spirit touch the hearts and souls of those and need and prevent anyone from enduring and short-term or long-term effects. Finally, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a support to these wounded servants and their families and may they come to know everlasting life found in received Jesus into their heart as their savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen
