Our Father in Heaven, we come boldly into Your Presence with hearts of thanksgiving for sparing the lives of Deputy Jimmy Johnston and Deputy Jared Cremeans.  As the news reports he was shot in his vest and Deputy Johnston was saved by his vest, but Deputy Cremeans was shot in the hand and shoulder, we ask You to provide the medical doctors treating him right now with wisdom from on High.  May they accurately assess his wounds and apply the appropriate treatment to bring about a full recovery.  O’ Lord, thank You for sparing the lives of Your two servants.  As both  wounded peacemaker are coping with this near-death experience, may Your Holy Spirit gently settle on their heart and soul and reveal to them how much You love them.  May Your mercies, grace, presence, love and comfort touch these officers and draw them ever so close to Your Side.  As the family of both officers are likely at the side of Your wounded servants, may You pour out an unending measure of Your love, grace, peace, mercy, comfort and most of all Your sweet presence to carry them through this very difficult time.  May Your words as follows speak deeply in the hearts of those in need, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  As the news reports the suspect was dead and another wounded, may You grant the investigators with supernatural wisdom and insight to gather the facts surrounding this deadly encounter.  We especially lift up the men and women of the entire Cabell County Sheriff’s Department as we know this has deeply affected them. May Your Holy Spirit touch every heart and draw them ever so close to Your Side to be comforted by Your Presence.  Continue to touch and heal your wounded peacemakers and restore him to full health.  May Your words continue to bring comfort to many as follows: “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”  This we ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.
