Our Merciful, gracious and Holy Lord, we come with urgency before Your Throne of Grace to lift up Officer Jorge DelRio into Your Presence.  As the news reports he is in critical condition after being shot in the face, we ask You, Lord, to grant the medical staff treating him with supernatural wisdom.  Although the news reports his condition is grave, may the medical staff be guided by Your Holy Spirit in their treatment of Officer DelRio to bring about a full recovery should that be Your will.  As we know Officer DelRio’s family is at his side loving and supporting him at this very emotional time, we ask for the sweet comfort of Your Holy Spirit to settle upon their hearts and minds and bring them Your peace that passes all understanding.  As the family, friends and co-workers are rallying at this side, may they know Your word says to, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”  And as Your word says, “I will never leave your nor forsake you”, we place our hearts and trust in Your Hands, O’ God.  May Your grace, mercy, peace, presence, comfort and love touch Officer DelRio’s family members and especially the many men and women of the Dayton Police Department who are at his side right now.  As a number of other officers were present and rushed Officer DelRio to the hospital, may these officers know the they are God’s servants for good according to Your Word.  Lord, we join with the Dayton Police Department and entire law enforcement community in Ohio and lift them into Your Hands of love and mercy.   May those officer and family members who were especially close to Officer DelRio know Your Word says to, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”  So Lord, as we lay our hurts and sorrows at Your feet, may Your Holy Spirit guard every person’s heart and mind at all times.  May Your amazing grace be made real to Officer DelRio.  And if he does not know Your love, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a representative of Your love.  May he be given an opportunity supernaturally receive You into his heart as Savior and Lord.  May he and many others know the everlasting life available only in Your Son, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
