ather in Heaven, We come into Your presence Lord to mourn this tragic loss of Deputy Michael Shawn from an on-duty collision. As countless Law enforcement officers across America regularly place themselves in harm’s way every day just like Deputy Shawn, may Your grace and protection surround every officer at all times. We, therefore, lift up the men and women of the Marion County Sheriff's Office who are grieving and mourning ever so greatly at this tragic loss. Lord, we ask for Your grace, peace, mercy and comfort to be with Deputy Shawn’s family as they must cope with this tragic loss just days before Christmas. May Your mercies also and touch the men and women of the Marion County Sheriff's Office and sustain them with Your presence and comfort as they cope with this loss of a dear friend and co-worker. May Your grace, comfort and peace be with the many fire-fighters and other law enforcement officers who were present at the time of this collision and had to witness this tragedy first hand—especially, that of a co-worker. May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to effectively investigate this collision. May you use this tragedy as a reminder to every law enforcement officer to be ever vigilant at all times. And as the Marion County Sheriff's Office must now prepare a final farewell to Deputy Shawn, may You use this service to point many to Jesus Christ. May these words ring true in the hearts of many, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” May those mourning be comforted by Your presence and may many be drawn to the love of Your Son, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
