Our Merciful Lord, our hearts are deeply broken as we join with the men and women of the Lubbock Police and Fire Department in mourning the on-duty fatality of Officer Nicholas Reyna and two firefighters of which one has also lost his life. Our hearts are hurting ever so greatly as we, in the law enforcement community, mourn this tragic loss of our brothers in the police and fire service--who also serve the people of the United States. As the families of Officer Reyna and this fallen firefighter are grieving and mourning ever so greatly, may they deeply experience Your Amazing grace and touch them as You carry them through this extremely difficult time of loss. We continue to come before Your Throne of Grace to lift up this critically injured firefighter into Your healing arms. As he is being treated at a local hospital, we ask You to grant the doctors with supernatural wisdom and insight to diagnose his injuries and apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. May this injured firefighter intimately know Your love, grace, person mercy and comfort as You carry him through this difficult time. And as the families and co-workers of this critically injured firefighter are rallying around him at the hospital, may Your Holy Spirit surround them with Your Grace and Presence as we know they are deeply concerned for their colleagues. O’ God, as this tragedy has hit the men and women of the Lubbock police and fire department ever so greatly, we ask you to raise up Godly firefighters, police officers, chaplains and friends to bring hope and comfort to those who are so deeply hurt and broken. May Your Word as follows bring comfort to the hearts of so many in need of a touch from the Master’s hand, “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” And, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” So, Lord, continue to wrap Your loving Arms of comfort around those in need of Your Touch. And as the Lubbock police and fire department must begin the difficult task to prepare a final farewell to their fallen brothers, may You draw many ever so close to Your Side where they may sense Your love and Your Presence. O’ Lord, as we know this day and the coming weeks are going to be very emotionally difficult for countless officers and firefighters, may You encourage many with these words, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."  May you use this final service to point many unto the love of Jesus in whom there is forgiveness of sin, in the name of Jesus we Pray, Amen.
