Our Gracious Lord, with deep hearts of gratitude and thanks, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift up a wounded New York City Police Lieutenant and place him into Your arms of love and mercy.  We are thankful that his life, too, was spared as he sustained a wound in his shoulder.  May You continue to guide the hands of the doctors so that they may render the correct medical care and restore his arm to complete health.  As this was the second ambush attack on New YORK Police Officers, we are so thankful the suspect was captured after a manhunt just after the second shooting.  As we know this has deeply affected the entire New York City Police Department, it is Your Holy Spirit we seek to settle upon them to carry them through these near-death encounters.  Once again, Lord, we seek Your amazing grace, love, peace and comfort especially touch the family of this wounded lieutenant and draw them ever so close to Your side as they cope with this near-tragedy.  May this Lieutenant and his family intimately experience Your sweet presence with them right now carrying them through this very emotional time.  Finally, may Your peace, love, mercy, comfort and Presence especially settle upon the hearts and souls of every New York Police Officer who were immediately involved in the aftermath of the second incident.  Thank You, Lord, for stopping the suspect from harming any more peacemakers.  May You especially prevent any copy-cats from perpetrating similar attacks anywhere across the U.S.   Lord, if this wounded Lieutenant or any co-worker has been spiritually challenged, may Your draw them ever clos to Your side.  May they know Your word says, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”   May they especially know Your word says, “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. As the men, women and family members of the New York City Police Department are sighing a breath of relief that the suspect was caught, we seek Your Amazing Grace to touch the hearts and minds of every officer and family member.  May they all be drawn to Your Side where they may see and know the supremeness of Your Love and Peace.  Most importantly Lord, may You reveal the Love of Your Son to many and may they know that no matter what happens Your Word encourages us that we are to, “…fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith,”  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
