Our Gracious Father, We come unto Your throne of grace to lift up the men and women of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's office in the on-duty traffic fatality of Deputy Jeff Watson.  Lord, we know that just as you wept at the death of Lazarus, you intimately understand the sorrow that the members of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Department are experiencing right now.  So, Lord, we ask for your grace, mercies and peace be abundant upon them and draw them ever so close to your side for comfort.  May you touch Deputy Watson’s wife and console her with Your love and grace and draw her ever so close to your side.  Lord, may you also use this tragedy as a training aid to encourage all law enforcement officers to utilize every bit of safety equipment afforded to them as the news reports show Deputy Watson was not wearing a seatbelt.  In the coming days, Lord, may your peace that passes all understanding settle upon every deputy, co-worker, family member, friend and first responders.  And as preparations are under way to say farewell, may many have an opportunity to come to a relationship with the Author of Life,, this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
