Our Father in Heaven, we come into Your Presence, Lord, to lift up four of Your Boston peacemakers intentionally struck with a vehicle in the line of duty. As the news reports the officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries, we seek Your healing touch to be upon their hearts, minds and bodies. Thank You, Lord, for sparing their lives.  May You empower the doctors and medical professionals with wisdom to be able to accurately and swiftly diagnose each officers’ injuries and apply the appropriate treatment. May Your mercies and grace touch the body of each officer from head to toes and sustain them with Your Arms of Love. May they make a full recovery in body, spirit and mind. Although the suspect initially escaped, we are so thankful he was apprehended a short time later and will now face justice. May Your love, grace, peace, mercy and everlasting comfort settle upon the heart and mind of every member of the Boston Police Department as they cope with the near loss of several of their colleagues. May Your amazing grace especially descend upon the family of each injured officer as they are rally around them to love and support them at this very emotional time. Lord, as we know this attempted murder of these officers will affect many co-workers and others in the local law enforcement community, may Your grace and love surround them and hold them ever so tightly in Your Hands. May You raise up chaplains and other Godly officers to be a beacon of light to each injured officer and any others who were involved in this near-death encounter. If any of these officers do not know You personally, may You remove the scales from their eyes and heart and reveal to them the love of Your Son in whom there is everlasting life. O’ Lord, let Your peace that passes all understanding settle in the hearts of these injured officers, their families and in the heart of every member of the Boston Police Department. May You encourage them with these words as follow, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” And, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”  Lord, preserve the hearts and minds of those affected and spare them from any short-term or long-term emotional trauma. May You use this incident, Lord, to open the hearts of many to know and receive the salvation of Your Son in whom there is everlasting life. May You use this to draw many who may have fallen away from You and may You welcome them back into Your arms of Loving kindness, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
