Our Loving Father, we come before Your Throne of Grace, Lord, to seek Your mercy and comfort to be upon San Francisco Firefighter Matt Vann seriously injured while on-duty.  We are so thankful to You Lord for sparing his life. As he is being treated at a trauma center, we ask You to continue to grant the doctors and entire medical staff wisdom to identify his injuries and apply the correct treatment to restore him to full health. We also seek Your mercies and grace to touch the many other firefighters who were present when this incident occurred and embrace them with Your arms of love.  O God, we seek Your amazing grace, peace and healing touch to settle upon Firefighter Matt Vann.  May your grace and mercies especially be with the his family as they are at his side at the hospital. May your peace that transcends all understanding settle on their hearts and minds as You carry them through this emotional time. May your mercies and grace touch the many co-workers who have been emotionally and spiritually affected by this tragic accident.  May You also be with those investigating this incident and grant them wisdom and insight and help with the overall investigation. Lord, every day, thousands of fire-fighters are constantly in harm’s way protecting Americans. So Lord, we want to continually bring every one of these servants unto your mercy seat and ask for your protecting hand to be upon them wherever they travel. May you protect them wherever they travel and whatever they do. May many members of the San Francisco Fire Department know how much they are loved by YOU and that Your word says that how blessed is the man (or woman) who takes refuge in the Lord. May many friends and colleagues of Firefighter Matt Vann be drawn to You Lord—the only One who can and will provide them a peace that passes all understanding. Lord, may You raise up Godly firefighters and chaplains to express Your Hope and grace at this very emotional time of uncertainty. Lastly Lord, may many come to know You in a real and personal way, this we ask in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
