Our merciful Lord, we come before Your Throne of Grace with hearts of gratitude for sparing the life of a wounded Washington D.C. firefighter.  As his wound is reported to not be life-threatening and he has since been released from the hospital, may You, Lord, supernaturally touch this firefighter with Your Amazing Grace and healing power.  May Your continued healing touch be upon his body, mind and spirit.   May Your love, mercy and comfort also settle upon the other firefighters who were at that scene and were fired upon.  May Your Holy Spirit touch their heart, mind and spirit and protect them at all times.  May you use this life-threatening incident to draw many firefighters unto Your side.  And if any of these firefighters do not know You personally, may You speak to their hearts and allow them to receive You into their heart as savior and Lord.  May Your love, grace, peace, mercy, comfort and presence be with the families of each of these firefighters and may they know the power of Your word was follows, “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” And, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”  O’ Lord, as the families of these firefighters are rallying at their sides to support them, may they know You said, “Peace I leave You, my peace I give you.”  Grant them peace in the middle of this storm.  May Your amazing grace and presence surround the men and women of the Washington D.C. Fire Department and encourage their hearts.  May you grant the police investigators wisdom and insight to track down and arrest those responsible for this senseless attack on these servants.  May You raise up witnesses and citizens to locate this suspect and be brought to justice.  May You cause the suspect to surrender and may You prevent any further injury or harm to any firefighter or peace office er.  Lord, we lift up firefighters across America as they are frequently vulnerable and in harm’s way without protection.  May Your grace and peace touch the hearts of firefighters in Washington D.C. and sustain with Your Arms of love, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
