Lord Jesus, we come into Your Presence to lift up a wounded Hemet Police Officer who was shot in the knee. As the news reports indicate his wound was not considered life-threatening, we thank you that his life was spared especially during this approaching Thanksgiving season and now ask you, Lord, to grant the doctors and other medical professionals wisdom and insight in order to effectively treat and completely restore this officer to full health. May you especially settle your peace, grace and love upon the family of this wounded officer as they rally around him to love and support him as he undergoes treatment. May your grace also extend to the men and women of the entire Hemet Police Department who are deeply concerned at this life-threatening encounter upon their friend and co-worker. May your peace that passes all understanding guard the hearts and minds of every member of the Hemet Police Department. We are thankful the suspect was captured and ask You to grant the investigators wisdom to gather the facts surrounding this encounter. May the members of the Hemet Police Department be granted an extra measure of Your Grace and Mercy as they cope with this attack on one of their co-workers. May Your words comfort these peacemakers as follows, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  As we know incidents like this can cause emotional and spiritual trauma in the present and in the future, we therefore ask you, Lord, to send your endless mercies upon this wounded peacemaker and the other officers and first responders who were initially at that incident and may You preserve their hearts and minds in You. May every member of the Hemet Police Department know Your word says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” May many officers and family members be granted Your peace that passes all understanding and be given an opportunity to know the Love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ—especially this Thanksgiving season, this was ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.
