Our Merciful Lord, law enforcement officers across America continue to recognize their need for Your mercy and grace for You are our Rock, Fortress and Deliverer.  And right now we want thank You, again, for sparing the lives of these two New York City Police Officers who were shot in the line of duty.  We therefore come with great boldness before Your Throne of Grace to seek Your mercy and comfort upon these two officers as they are being treated for their wounds.  As the news reports indicate they both survived their wounds and will recover, we continue to come before your throne of Grace and ask You to grant the medical staff wisdom and insight to be able to accurately diagnose and treat their injuries.  And as this investigation is unfolding, we also ask You grant the investigators wisdom as they piece together this crime against Your peacemakers in which the suspect lost his life.  May Your peace settle upon the entire New York City Police Department as they have been obviously emotionally and spiritually challenged at this attack on their co-workers.  Most importantly, we ask for Your mercy, grace, comfort and peace to settle upon the families of both wounded officers and draw them all ever so close into Your Presence as they are at their side.  May Your word as follows bring comfort to those in need, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”  May You use these incidents to awaken the citizens of America that an attack on any peacemakers is an attack on You, Lord.  May You continue to touch the hearts of many officers and may you draw them close to Your side for mercy and grace.  Lord, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be an extension of Your love to those in need.  And if any law enforcement officer has backslidden or does not know Your Son, may they know Your word says that, “Now is the day of salvation.”  May every New York City law enforcement officer be drawn unto the love of Your Son and may those who need Your Touch be drawn to Your Son Jesus, in whom there is everlasting life and forgiveness of sins, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
