Our Loving Father, We come before Your Throne of Grace, Lord, to seek Your mercy and comfort to be upon critically wounded Broadway Police Officer Patrick Tate who was shot four times after a traffic stop.  We are so thankful to You Lord for sparing his life although he sustained critical injuries. As he is being treated at a hospital, we ask You to continue to grant the doctors and entire medical staff wisdom to quickly identify his injuries and then apply the correct treatment to restore him to full health. May Your amazing grace, peace and healing touch settle upon Officer Tate and draw him ever so close to Your Side. May your grace and mercies especially be with his family as they are at his side at the hospital. May your peace that transcends all understanding settle on their hearts and minds as You carry them through this time of uncertainty during this Thanksgiving season. May you be with the men and women of the Broadway Police Department and especially those colleagues close to him and uphold them with your peace, mercy and grace. May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight as they gather the facts and evidence in this attempted murder on one of Your servants in which the suspect later committed suicide. May the family members and every member of the Broadway Police Department know Your word says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Lord, every day, as there are countless law enforcement officers in harm’s way like Officer Tate, we want to continually bring every one of these officers unto your mercy seat and ask for your protecting hand to be upon them wherever they go. May you protect them at all times. May the law enforcement members of Broadway Police Department know how much they are loved by YOU and that Your word says that how blessed is the man (or woman) who takes refuge in the Lord. May many friends and colleagues of Officer Tate be drawn to you Lord—the only One who can and will provide them a peace that passes all understanding. Lord, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to express Your Hope and grace at this very difficult time. Lastly Lord, may many come to know You in a real and personal way and may You fully heal Officer Hopper, This we ask in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
