O’ Lord, our prayer for every law enforcement officer this Christmas Eve is this: “Strengthen me to, ‘Put on the whole armor of God, that [I] may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil…For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds’. “So Lord, as an answer to our prayers, we thank You O’ God for sparing the life of this New Hampshire State Trooper. As the news reports indicate he was taken to a hospital and is said to be in stable condition. we therefore lift this wounded trooper before Your Throne of Grace and seek Your healing touch upon him. And as he is being treated at a local hospital, we ask You to grant the doctors with supernatural wisdom and insight to diagnose his injuries and apply the correct treatment. As we know this trooper had to use deadly force and a suspect lost his life, we know these encounters can be traumatic for so many. We therefore ask You to pour out Your Mercy and Grace on this wounded trooper and any other peacemaker who may be emotionally suffering from this encounter. May Your mercies and grace touch this wounded trooper and he copes with this near-death encounter. As this trooper’s family is likely at this side, may they sense the presence of Your Holy Spirit carrying them through this near loss of their loved one just before Christmas. May Your love, grace, peace, mercy and comfort be so very real to them. May You prevent anyone from enduring any short-term or long-term emotional trauma. We also want to lift the men and women of the New Hampshire State Police and other allied agencies involved in that incident into Your Presence and ask You to sustain them with Your arms of love and peace. And may Your love, grace, peace, mercy and comfort especially touch them as they rally around their injured comrade. Grant the investigators wisdom to gather all of the facts surrounding this incident. We again ask you, O’ Lord, to strengthen every law enforcement officer to, “Put on the whole armor of God, that [they] may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil…For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.” May You use this incident to draw many officers unto Your Son this Christmas season. And if this wounded trooper does not know You, may Your Holy Spirit draw him unto Your Son where he may receive forgiveness of sins and everlasting life. In the name of Jesus we pray.
