O’ Merciful Lord, we are so grateful for Your wonderful mercies upon this wounded Massachusetts State Police trooper and are so thankful that You spared his life. As the news reports he is in stable condition and has been released from the hospital, we ask you to grant the doctor’s wisdom and insight to continue to treat his wound and restore him to full health. We, therefore, lift up this trooper before Your Throne of Grace and ask You to wrap Your loving arms around him as he recovers from this near-death experience. We are so thankful for the strength and might You gave to this trooper and others at that scene to endure and arrest the suspect.  May Your peace that passes all understanding sustain this wounded trooper and the other peace officers and may they be drawn ever close to Your side for the continuing comfort of Your Holy Spirit. May Your mercy, grace, love and everlasting comfort also settle upon the family of this wounded trooper as they cope with the near loss of their loved one.  May Your grace additionally touch every member of the Massachusetts State Police and allied agencies as they rally around to support their wounded comrade and his family.  As several law enforcement officers were involved in this incident, may every law enforcement officer know that You ordained their job as a peacemaker to protect and serve their community wherever they may be. And through this near-death encounter, may many law enforcement officers come to recognize their need to draw near to You for You will then draw near to them. May Your words speak to the hearts of those in need, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” And, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” May You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to love and point their co-workers unto Your Son.  Lastly because of Your peace and grace, may many come to receive Your forgiveness and receive Your Son as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
