Our Father in Heaven, hear our prayer, O’ Lord, as we lift up the heartbroken men and women of the Tampa Police Department in this tragic traffic fatality of their friend and co-worker, Officer Jesse Madsen. At this very difficult time, it is only YOU to whom we can turn for comfort at this sudden loss of a dear friend and co-worker. So Lord, we seek Your unfailing love sweetly settle upon Officer Madsen’s family who are deeply mourning this horrific loss of a husband and father of three children. Lord, in the midst of this most difficult time for the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Madsen, may Your presence, comfort and especially Your amazing grace be made evident in their hearts and minds. Lord, we ask for Your Arms of Love and Mercy to tightly hold Officer Madsen’s entire family ever so close to Your side. May they intimately and deeply sense Your love, grace, mercy, comfort, and most of all, Your Presence in their hearts. May Your word as follows touch the hearts of many grieving and mourning ever so greatly, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” And, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Even in the middle of this tragedy, may You bring about good to everyone. May You give the investigators wisdom to piece together the details and facts from this collision. As the Tampa Police Department must now begin the difficult process to prepare to say a final farewell to Officer Madsen, may You use this time to draw many co-workers and others ever so close to the Cross of Christ. May Your Holy Spirit, even now, begin to touch the hearts of so many. May You raise up chaplains and other Christian law enforcement officers to minister to those hurting in their hearts. And so Lord, may, You, our God of Hope fill every officer, friend and family member with all Joy and Peace because of the everlasting gift of eternal life found only in Your Son. May You take this tragedy and bring about good to the hearts of many Tampa Police Officers. If any have strayed from Your path, bring them back unto Your Side. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
