Our Father in Heaven, We come to your Lord today with humble hearts to thank you for sparing the life of Officer Tim Bell.  We are so grateful that he wore his protective vest which very likely saved his life.  As he is being treated for his wounds, we ask you to guide the doctors at every step to render the proper treatment and restore him to full health.  May your grace and peace that passes all understanding settle upon his heart, mind and soul and may You surround him with Your love.  May your mercies and peace especially settle upon his wife who was at the hospital supporting and loving him.  Lord, we ask for your grace and mercies to touch the hearts and minds of every officer who was at that initial scene who had to witness their comrade suffering from gunshot wounds.  We know incidents like this can cause long term emotional trauma and therefore ask for Your grace, mercies, peace and comfort to touch the hearts and minds and every officer who was at that scene.  May You prevent them from enduring any adverse emotional effects in the days/weeks/months and years to come.  May your unfailing love touch every officer with the San Diego Police Department and draw them unto Your side.  Finally Lord, may Your Holy Spirit touch the hearts of every officer, co-worker and family member and may many come to know the eternal salvation that is found in Your Son.  May every officer know You will always be a shield around them.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
