Our Gracious Lord, it is with great earnest that we come unto Your Throne of Grace to lift up a critically wounded Houston Police officer into Your Arms of Loving Care. As the news reports indicate he is in critical but stable condition, we come into Your Presence Lord, the Great Physician, and ask for Your mercies and grace to intervene and touch this officer from head to toe. May You, first, grant the medical staff with wisdom to use their skills and training to diagnose and render the correct treatment in order to fully restore Your injured servant to complete health. May Your love, presence, mercy, grace and peace especially settle upon his family who are rallying at his side as we know they are filled with a multitude of emotions, anxiety and concern. May your grace and love especially touch the many other Houston Police officers and first responders who were first on the scene to render first aid to their wounded comrade. And may Your peace and amazing grace especially touch the hearts of the other officers who were present and witnessed their co-worker to be shot. O’ Lord, may Your presence and peace sustain them with Your grace. We are so thankful the suspect has been arrested. May You, Lord, grant the investigators wisdom and insight to piece together the details of this incident. We especially lift up every member of the Houston Police Department as they love and support the family of their injured brother and each other at this very difficult time of uncertainty. Grant these law enforcement officers Your amazing grace to carry them through difficult days ahead. And if this wounded officer does not know Your love, may You supernaturally speak to his heart and mind and reveal to him, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” May this wounded officer receive You as Savior and Lord. May many law enforcement officers be drawn unto Your side Lord. May You heal this wounded officer in any way that will bring Glory to Your Name. May every officer and family member be encouraged by Your word as follows, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ Finally, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a tremendous support to any in need. May many be drawn to the Love of Your Son in whom we can cast all of our cares upon for You said, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.” O’ Lord, Grant rest to those with weary souls. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, Amen.
